Our beginnings

Milton Amateur Football Club was formed in 1972 when two brothers, Pat and John Griffin, decided that they would like a regular game of football. So great was the enthusiasm of the players recruited that it was decided to apply for membership to the Stirling and District Football League.

One year later a Committee formed in the 1314 Inn comprising of James Masterson, Mick Mullane, Charles McDonnell, Frank McKeown, Pat Fallens, Wullie Stevenson and Dave Murphy. The 1314 Inn supplied a ball and the strips were handed over by the 1314 Amateur Football Club.

In season 1974-75 the club formed a larger committee and went from strength to strength, being promoted in successive seasons, reaching the FIrst Division in 1977-78. Eddie Hamill was brought in as nanager and transformed the team again, winning the First Division and the East of Scotland Cup.

A milestone in the history of Milton AFC's development was in 1988 when we leased the unused football pitch at Hillpark Education Centre. This led to Milton being invited to join the prestigious Caledonian League in 1991. Click here for more information on the Caledonian League team.

We also have a Stirling District team and a host of younger sections in the Soccer Academy.
